i just got a brighter green and some metallic flakes in a diamond shape to re paint my rev hood. i know how to paint solid colors but i have no idea how to add flake. do i add it into clear or into green? or do i need to mix some clear into the green with flakes?

depends on the effect you want, you can mix it with either but i would mix it with the green just encase you scratch the clear you dont loose the metal flake

What he said, if you mix it in with the color the color will cover the flake!!!!!! Color, clear with flake, if its boat flake (very large) then another coat of clear as soon as the first coat with flakes is hand slick, then cut with 1500-2000 , clean with aerosal glass cleaner or Automotive paint surface cleaner, then 2 more coats of clear, cut and buff good to go, if its small flake and you know how to lay down the clear coat then the extra sanding between coats isnt necessary, just maybe nib some of the dirt out and polish!!!
