custom one ski machine options

ok so if there was an option for a purpose built one ski snow machine would you spend 15000$

im talking powered by 800R rotax engine from a xp sled
has electronic engine reverse
hand warmers
promoto billet hand guards and risers
promoto billet adventure pegs
ice scratchers and a tunnel cooler
yeti ski
cyclops LED light
Probally use timbersled skid and for sure there convex track
forks that have proper snowbike setup

do you get the idea here a machine that is set up ready to go, not something you buy from one company then buy parts from 10 other guys and hope you set it up right to make run on snow.
 
Easy to service clutches/ect.
Quiet ish exhaust.
Reliable electronics/wiring

Weight under #360 dry.

We talking bike or snowhawk? 150 hp. What for? With a 120 to 137 track? That's a chute climber for sure but I don't want to rip through the trees at 70 mph!! Reverse? For backing out of the trailer? $15000 US? That you can't tack the track and ski off for summer riding? We have those. They're called sleds.
 
I will Pay the same as a top of the line sled no questions asked I also expect the same level of reliability and customer service. Right now $16500 Canadian gets you a Doo 850
I will put my $ down on the snowbike right now where do I sign up. We all know that all conversion kits will go the way of the explorer and 2 Moto as soon as a purpose build snow bike hits the snow. I see the fear in peoples eyes.
Most guys are into it for 20+thousand Canadian with conversions , and almost all of them have dedicated summer bikes for off road so the all season deal is a moot point for most.
 
I like the idea of a purpose built snowbike but a 800 twin with cvt clutch is going to be too wide and too heavy for the riding most of us are doing. A 10"ski won't float the front enough either, lightweight bikes already sit low in the snow, a 50-80lb heavier single ski would hunt out rocks and stumps like a mother in fluffy snow. If you had half of a 800 motor with 85hp, efi, reverse, cvt clutch you would be heading in the right direction IMO...

dreaming ? easier to ride, better than the tracks on the market, lighter more agile, another 10-15hp would be a big plenty. quiet two stroke, shift on the bars. absolutely no new technology required



Some might blast around, we tiptoe through the woods.
This comes from an old guy. 20 years ago we wanted to climb the unclimbable chute, the entire snow market I think is not going that way anymore.

Conversion kits aren't going anywhere. Thats whats makes this sport what it is. I'm sick of people asking for a purpose built. I, as well as many others, am perfectly content on my converted bike. Would never even consider a purpose built.
 
It'd have to be as nibble as a bike and fully set up ready to ride. Even then I don't think I could take the plunge and buy something like that in my current lifestyle. I'd probably wait a year or two and buy used after the prices came down a bit.

I don't enjoy the part about snowbiking worrying about if my engine and trans are up to temp or am I going to have milky or complete milk come out when I do my oil change after one ride. I also guess I'm different than most I want to get my bike set up for the winter and leave it, that's why I kept it and bought a newer bike for the dirt riding. The whole you need to do this and this and this to make your bike run in the winter gets old but if I can get it set up and not have the worry part anymore I'd almost rather just keep a bike and kit. Only had my own snowbike this season so still working the bugs out.

15 k is totally reasonable.
This is actually less than i would expect to pay for a custum built single ski.
As a small entity it is impossible to get good price points on anything..........
The buying power is just not there. Any sled or motorcycle mfg. Allready has there pricing established, throwing together a different model (a production single ski) just lumps in with everything they are allready purchasing, tracks, engine, forks, skid, even down to nuts and bolts, grips.

For those of you that dont think you need 150 hp there is a lot you are missing out on and this kind of machine opens up huge doors for fun! (And from the sounds of it still goes very well in the trees). If you dont want that and are happy with your snowbike then keep riding it and be stoked for the rest of us that want more.

Everyone has a different style, he didnt ask "who doesnt want to pay 15k for a custom 1 ski" Most peoples views of a big hp single ski are based on the snowhawk they rode one time that was probally set up way wrong and handled really bad! or some preconceived notion of what works based on very little information.
Please dont diss a new option till you try it!!!!! It could very well be the best thing going right now.

How much does the 800 machine weigh? I have over 20000 into my crf and timbersled and that doesn't even have lights or warmers yet. If you can get the weight down to a comparable level I think the market is there. Guys have spent over 30000 on turbo big bores and still won't compete with your machine. No shifting is a big plus.
 
I think there would be a great market for something like that.

The BRP white rabbit looks cool, but "The engineering team should aim for a dry weight of less than 200lbs and a selling price below $ 2,500"??? Don't know what BRP was smoking when they printed that.
 
What about a 600 Etech? That is a sweet engine - I am really not interested in 150hp plus.

I love the idea. This would be something that would give you most of the advantages of a snowbike, but still have the ability to keep up with the sleds (most of my friends haven't switched). This would work better in the big country we have out here in Western Canada, when I always feel I need more HP to keep up with the sleding buddies and those DEEEP days.

I want a snow bike with 150 reliable hp without changing the geometry, weight, or handling. Without nitrous or turbo. On pump gas. I don’t care if it is manual transmission or CVT. I want to be able to ride it like a dirt bike, hammering whoops all day and it doesn’t fall apart. The only thing I should have to do is Loc tite everything, change the oil, grease bearings, and do a top end at the end of the season. I think Yamaha has the best chance to satisfy me.


PS: I'm running out of time to use the 150 hp. I'm 45 years old. And I haven't been taking it easy on this body either. When I die there will be nothing left to salvage.

How much does the 800 machine weigh? I have over 20000 into my crf and timbersled and that doesn't even have lights or warmers yet. If you can get the weight down to a comparable level I think the market is there. Guys have spent over 30000 on turbo big bores and still won't compete with your machine. No shifting is a big plus.

With the 137 setup full fluids and about 2 gallons of gas it's at 390. What I'm after is a ride that makes you scream in your helmet because is such s thriller to ride and I feel I have achieved that. Yes it will ride the trees with any snow bike out there but your going to have more giggles every time u can use the power!
 
I liked your 600 machine. Do you have any video of the 800 in action? I think having a short track 600 and long track 800 option would be ideal. It seems you are the only one thinking outside the box.

Some videos of a few climbs in decent snow would speak volumes.
Especially with a gearjammer trying to keep up.
