Of all the custom turnkey builders out there who is making the lightest sled with the most reliable 2 stroke HP?

Please list any turnkey builder who is selling a sub 450 lb sled with at least 180 HP.

Please provide weights, HP, and links to photo's/websites if you have them.

Here is one turnkey builder using the Poo chassis.

Turbo
435lbs Dry
Can't find anywhere on the site where they list the HP
$33,500

Yeah I looked at there review in the mag a while back. Always thought they were cutting edge place but lately with that old Edge Chassis they are losing it. They need to get with the times and move to newere chassis and quit trying to make the old one work. Still a nice ride though:beer;

skidoo xp

Why spend the money on a custom sled, when the Xp 800 weighs in at 445?
need more power, turbo it up you could have probable got a left-over 09' in the summer for$7800 IMO

C3 powersports carbon fiber xp chassis, drop in an 860 and rip!!!

Cool stuff from these boys!

CMX stands by that old yet highly modified and durable chassis because you can't build an A arm chassis that light and still be as strong. thats 435 with turbo.

because you can build stuff like this, 358 lbs dry,423 full of fuel ready to ride,210 hp, 162 track.:D And as far as the rev goes I weighed my friends 09 800 with the 162 track dry tank with coolant in it and it went 476 lbs, fueled up 541...and that is the lightest factory sled im aware of in a mountain version.

Started with a new bare edge bulkhead, carbon fiber tunnel,carbon fiber hood,fabcraft rails and rear skid but arms custom made fron titanium,fabcraft carbon fibre trailing arms,CMX rear bumber and steering,slp powder pros,titanium spindels,aluminium brackets,titanium driveshafts,titanium bolts,Rimel 903,pre mix race gas only,billet aluminum gears,slp/polaris race pipes,carbon fiber belt guard,artic cat secondary,titanium shock springs...PI dont think I can get her any lighter...lol

I'd love to see your sled on a scale, wet or dry. I have an edge as well with many similar mods and mine is over 100lbs heavier than yours dry...so call me a skeptic.

As far as the original topic, a guy with the user name winter on this forum builds some very light reliable sleds, but last I heard he was getting out of the game.

try power addiction brad wurston in logan ut he builds some real sweet stuff and builds a ausome tripple in the 1200 and 1500 cc based off water craft case and I gaurantee if you try one of these tripples you will be amazed and think twice before you go back to a twin I have a 1200 built by him and it is a very strong motor

c3 powersports has some very light sleds. one carbon fibre xp weighed in at 380lbs with stock parts, heavy mxz front end, and a bikeman 880 with nos. another xp 800 with light weight goodies came in at 357lbs. had a 1200 4 stroke turbo with ezryde 174"x3"x16"(track weighed 70lbs, turbo kit weighed 60lbs) come in at 467lbs with 300+ hp. just finished a xp 163 with a turbo m8 engine that came in at 399lbs with a 25lb aero 66 on it. you can check them out at;

CMX does have a A-arm version of their sled now. I can tell you their stuff works very good....have spent some time on a couple of them, but they are not cheap.

No problem any time ur down this way give me a shout, we will slap her on my road race scales, we have done 3 of these carbon sleds and all weigh the same,Cmx 800 with the new heavier FI 800 goes 410 without the carbon fibre tunnel and titanium shafts. The older CMX psi motored deal went 385 dry.and thats 38 lbs right there..what have u done to yours to shed weight? Carbon tunnel weighs 7 lbs, carbon hood 2.7,carbon trailing arms 2.4, spindles 1/2 pound if that, slp race pipes insane light, boss seat 6 lbs, titanium shafts 2.5 lbs, all titanium bolts save another 5 lbs,titanium skid parts 3.5 lbs, custom billet gear case with aluminum gears saves 10 lb over stock Fabcraft rails that i thinned out for 1 pound, holes in stock bulkhead for 1 pound,1/2 size cooler saves coolent weight, I run a 2 inch paddle track as its lighter. Trust me it weighs what it weighs.
It really is not to hard to get a sled this light, just like a sprint car build you take every single part and reduce its weight as much as possible with what ever material is needed. yeah its mega bucks but we all have our hobbies.

well said I like the way you think love your sled

Thank you very much, considering a bone stock 800 edge weighs 496 lbs dry, knocking off 130 odd pounds is just a matter of time and money and machineing ...make a part as light as possible till it breaks then add .025 more material and try again till it holds....lol....;)

kind of like the old saying I think i can I think I can. trying is winning. wish I had more tools, my stuff doesnt look that good but it sure turns heads, I have a 1200 wc motor that sure would look good in that chassis. lol

you know I have been seriously thinking about a wc engine in it next year..lol...:cool:

you will not be sorry I have it in a gen II chaasis right now but I will never go back to a twin unless it is a turbo but they are a arm ripping experiance for sure and a naturaly aspperated motor to boot I will never ever part with the wc motor its worth every penny.:eek::beer;:face-icon-small-hap

Ive talked at length with brad in utah about his conversion, looks really cool also the guys in new york that do a 4 cyl inline as well..thats just sick..lol...400 hp
+

well brad wurston in logan ut built this motor I bought it off the swap meet last year he did a bunch of updates to the ignition for me beefed up the fly wheel housing. but no jokeing he is a hell of a guy to deal with and will make time to talk to you. ive been wanting to ride in montana for some time now maybe we can hook up and ride sometime this year and I can show you the 1200 and see what you think.
