Custom all black tunnel wrap

From my experience, the matte holds up to boot scuffs much better than the gloss. But the tunnel edge pieces will need replaced every season. No biggie since the Polaris tunnel has the slot system which makes it easy to just replace 4" strips on each side. I love wrapped tunnels. I purchase my vinyl from here:
Metrorestyling.com

how much vinyl do you order to do a sled?

Just curious for you guys that have done this....do you just go over your VIN sticker on the right side of the tunnel or make a square cut out for it?

I went over mine and left it covered. After you go over it the wrap seals down tight enough that you can see the outline of the sticker. You could cut it out after with a razor knife very easily.
The place on the tunnel where the vin number is stamped in can still be read on my sled. Eric

Thanks for the input! did you use the 3m edge sealing product as well for any exposed edges?

Keep Calm and Carbon Fiber On

Used some 3M 1080 black carbon fiber print on the sides, and then 3M 1080 white carbon fiber on top. Looks awesome and you sure get what you pay for when it comes to vinyl, my last sled I used cheap stuff off of eBay and it didn't go on very well or hold up, this went on awesome. Love it! Bumpers are at the paint shop, and the rails, a-arms, spindles, will be going to powdercoat asap. Not going to do anything with the boards this year since I'm not sure if I'll like these or go to the Burandt boards which are black already. KCCO!

Here's one I knocked out yesterday at work. 2014 snowcheck. Notice I cut out all the ovals, I'll share a little info on that with ya. I have wrapped a piss load of these tunnels over the last 3 years, and have noticed some come back with rips around the oval areas. The reason for this is flex in the two pieces of aluminum. Before I wrap tunnels now I go over the unit and check for any flex. If you push on the tunnel and the inner aluminum separates from the top piece its not going to hold up, so cut out the holes. Some tunnels are solid and have no give, these ones you could leave the material in the holes and probably be ok. Just a little info for you guys.

Here's a sneak peek of what i'm going to be using in the coming weeks on not just a tunnel:face-icon-small-coo

I've also used the 3m 1080 vinyl. Easy to work with. I also used 3m primer 94 in some areas of the sled to help promote the adhesion especially on the edges.

Friend of mine got his professionally done. The guy used fishing line under the wrap so he just pulled it and it cut nice sharp square edges. Not sure if he stuck them to it first or taped the line to the tunnel first?

You may be referring to knifeless tape. That's what I use especially on the 12 pro since there's no good stopping point on the bottom of the running board. It beats trying to cut a straight line by hand!

Dang...too bad you're so far away... I'd pay you to do mine in a heartbeat!!

Nice work!!

Looks really good!! I havnt had the chance to work with the chrome. Just matte and gloss colors. How is the chrome laying on? Any different then gloss?

Its tougher for sure. I had to get the roll laminated beforehand because the chrome scratches so! easy. The laminate inhibits the conformity a little bit, but as the day went on i got a handle on it. If you overheat it , it will change color. The adhesive on this avery film is weaker than 3m too. I used ahesion promotor over all the surfaces, not just the edges.
