Curvacious...

... but not in a good way.

On the left is the A-arm I bent in the Big Horns on my sled's maiden trip. This was probably from a rock under the snow that ended up throwing me off the sled while I was carving up a mild hill through the trees. In retrospect it was worth it! The rock also took a gouge out of my ski edge too. Oh well.

I think right at that point you should buy aftermarket. I've used Holz in the past (several times), but I'm going with Z-Broz this time. Sounds like it was a fun bend though!

I considered that, but I also considered that the Polaris engineers might have intended them to bend to save the bulkhead. Being cast aluminum the only thing that will happen if the A-arm is too strong and you hit something is that the bulkhead is going to crack. I'm willing to replace an A-arm, at $160 and 30 minutes of work, before trying to replace a bulkhead. I'm no expert so I could be entirely wrong on this idea, but it's what I've chosen. This hit was no love tap - it was pretty substantial. I don't tend to get thrown off my sled often :-)

Have any of you noticed the shocks bottom out easily and there are NO bottom out bumpers on them?! Me thinks that's the main reason why we're seeing so many bent A-arms on these new Pros. Hopefully Polaris will GET A CLUE!

Have FUN!

I'm not sure shock bottoming is what caused the bend in my arm. Look where the shock attaches. The bend is behind it. If it were due to the arm movement stopped by the shock I'd think the bend would be outside of the shock mount and the arm from the shock mount to the bulkhead would be straight. I think this bend was caused by force in some other direction, such as upward and backward at the same time (from hitting a rock on the outer edge of the right ski), pushing the arm unnaturally back and up at the same time. That's my guess.

Looks PRECISELY like mine!! Sure you didnt sneak into my garage? LOL

And from the same cause, mild sidehill and hit a rock buried, bent ski straight up and then no flex to absorb the impact.

I was expecting some good nuddie pics from that thread title.

I have brand new unbent Pro a-arms if you need them.

That's how all mine have bent. I've never hit anything directly on the a-arm that bent them down, just in.
