Crystal Springs area sunday (few pics)

well, i am a newb to the forums pretty much. and as far as sledding i am a newb as well at owning my own..
picked up my brand new 2008 M6 153 on saturday, sunday went with a buddy to stampede pass and crystal springs for a session and break in of the new sled..

i am a snoMOboarder, tow in, ride your board down, but quickly learning that a day out on JUST your sled is just as fun.. well, when u have your own sled

so here's a few picks..

i would love to know the name of this bowl if anyone knows?

watched my buddy climb this hill to the top several times, then got fed up and charged it myself.. whooohaw!

the view at the top of that bowl of Ranier was pretty rewarding

if anyone knows what that bowl/zone is called i'd love to know. to mark on my map for future fun..

sledding sure is fun on your OWN sled :)

Welcome to the addiction we call the 4M.....

MOB, that looks like a bowl I want to go to....we have to make a plan for you to take me there to check out those cornices at the top....:D

ya it is king bowl, but stay away in high avalanch times, look at the trees, and there is way better places to ride up there, I cannot say where tho.

cool. King Bowl it is.. thanks!

yes, it is a high avy danger area, timing and weather are key.. the cornices lookers right from the bottom side were about 15 feet thick at max..
looked pretty fun for you jumpin types.. i was thinking on a sweet pow day they be great for hucking on our snowboards :)

i would like to explore this area more in the future to find some other fun zones.. maybe someday i can find those "hush hush" spots..

Just start exploring as you go--there is alot of good riding to be had back there--from boondocking to awesome hill climbs to very technical stuff.

Alot mmore snow at Kings owl then when I was there lat time in December.

Congrats on steping up--might make a full time sledder out of ya yet. Come on up to the Baker shootout April 5th--it will be a hoot.

haha i'll always snowboard :face-icon-small-con umm, i think... but i am defenitely going to be spending alot more time JUST sledding.. sleds are a killer way to get out to no wheres-ville and avoid lift serviced hills and koooks killing all the podwer for board riding.. big reason for sleds.. but i can see how i could easily become a sledhead only..

thanks for the welcome.. i'm stoked to get my time in!

oneshot - my prediction is by the middle of next season you'll have sold your 600 and bought an 800. There's a thread that was started about a month ago by a snomoboarder here in the WA forum. You should read it. Also, go to biglines.com and see the slednecks forum. There's a very informative thread there on lessons learned for sled accessed ski/boarding. Enjoy - Kordero

yammadog - yep, no amount of 2stroke smoke can get the snowboarding out of my blood. Don't get me wrong though. Baker, blue dome, and 2 feet of fresh is hard to beat.

Kord, i totally hear ya on the UP it factor.. i rode dirt bikes for yrs, and at a certain age i had to up it to a 250 for more power cuz it was needed..

i needed to start small and reliable and within a budget, so the M6 was perfect, and very capable for places i want and need to go right now. i predict by the end of next season i will be wanting to upgrade.. and probably do as my buddy did. just get a kit for 2g's or less and mod it up to a 800.. we have a decent crew of snomoboarders and its still growing.. everyones learning valuable info to share for sure on sledding and boarding combined.. we done some fun missions already...

i have checked out biglines, but never the sled forums, i am a forum junky, i really need to stay away from to many new ones.. got to many as it is..

and soon i'll be back on the fishing forums too.. :) making reports about fishing sled side ;)

haha, ok.. reliable and sled shouldn't be in the same sentence much i have heard and kinda know..

what are BB kits?
man i am so new.. hopefully not new enough to get a "special" sticker job.. i can retaliate fast with that one ;)

BB is a term used by the MOD sledders...stands for Big Bore and the minute you mod something, you become full time broke down!!!

As for the stickers....you are "special" so says your mom....now you just have to figure out who's going to get to ya....;):D

the New M6 is a blast. i have never owned a sled though so i have no comparison..

i have ridden some friends sleds recently.. all 4 strokes tho

2008 nitro MTX
2007 phazer MTX
another older 4stroke yamaha, forget?

and i like my new sled the best :) the quick power is awesome.. it climbs like a champ right out the box..
