crossfire crossover?

If i were to extend a crossfire out to a 153 what would the difference be between that and an m series 153? thanks for your help

Crossfire will have a wider ski stance, different gears in the DD, but that can be changed, gas tank and seat are wider, sway bar (usless pulled), drop brackets are shorter on xfire and would need to be changed to m-series. Cooler lines under the tunnel are shorter.

It can be done. I extended mine to 162 over the summer. If you have any questions about the process I'll do what I can to help.

ok well if i could get a cf8 for 2k less than an m8. same year same miles what would your or anyone recommend doing

If you have the ablitlity and tools to d the work your self it may be worth it. Mine was a 06 that I converted. Picked up a used track, skid and rear tunnel section and drop brackets, then sold my crossfire stuff to help offset the cost.

One option you may want to look in to is the new rear bumper on the 09 models. I hear the tunnels are 4" shorter than the previous year. Have some one that has a 09 153 measure the rear section of the tunnel and compare that to the stock crossfire one. You may be able to upgrade to the newer bumper without changing the rear section of the tunnel out.

Not sure what gears are in the stock cf8, but you may be able to get by with them if they are 60/60.

Drivers would also have to be changed to a 3 pitch. (forgot about that in first post)

Overall I could have done the conversion for around $5-700, but it was a bit more because of powdercoating costs to match the black tunnel on my sled.

You can always go with the Skinz Tunnel Kit that will take your 136 from 153 out to 162 if desired.

Comes with everything you need to do it except the coolant line extensions which are extra but available.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
Paul

I just set the crossfire ski stance to the narrowest setting, never had a problem tipping the sled over. Or you can go with m-series a-arms and shocks, but that will drive the cost up.
