I'm trying to get all the wiring connected back up after getting the motor loosley mounted in, but there is one white male plug I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes.

It plugs directly into the wiring harness to the ECU and according to the service manual it is the "crank temp" sensor ... does this mean crank position sensor? Where does this plug into the motor?

I don't remember if it was even plugged in at all ...... anyone have any ideas?

I think this is the same wire almost every one of us has or wanted to ask about ! its not used dont worry about it

:confused::confused::confused:

Srsly?

I hate this.

Me and a buddy just spent the last 2 hours scratching our heads tracing out wiring diagrams and all kinds of **** trying to figure out what the hell this is....you are talking about the white two-pronged plug coming straight out of the ECU wiring harness correct?

This is on a 2006 ..... were the 2005's different?

this is the connector

Dog..

i will ASSURE you that NOTHING plugs into that wiring harness...for sure..

its unplugged on my 05 900 and my wifes 06 700..

tape it off and ride on buddy.

Yep thats the one !:D I myself have spent hours reasearching this same thing and have replied many times to this question ! I was so carefull to lable everything the first time I pulled my engine( I even #ed the bolts and bagged them ) Then WTF IS this for ???You gotta love the 900. Now I have had the motor out so many times I dont even look at my manual anymore.

I think we need a "WTF IS THIS FOR" topic in the useful links sticky ?

I could ask this question about every single wire! I swear I cant find the other ends of half the wires coming out of my ecu...

Dog,

Since you have a clear picture of one of the wires im curious on, im going to steal a post here and ask another question...

The unit to the LEFT of the ECU, not sure on its name, has 3 sets of wires coming off of it. Do all 3 get used? I can only find a spot for 2, The yellow set and I think the red set if I remember correctly.

Also, Can someone show me where the wires are routed out of the stator on an 06? The steering post and engine mount seem to be in the way...

Thanks,
Nolan

The service manual for these sleds is absolutley worthless.

I swear to god it looks like they had a bunch of idiot college interns who failed their english classes put it together ... Then again that's probably who designed these sleds in the first place
