Well fellas its done ! It snapped going though a gulley in epic pow cutting my day short and most likely ending my days aboard a 900 . I think I will be moving on to a 08D8 I rode today in the same epic untracked for ever ,over the hood bluebird pow day ! with some of the best goodies from my sled and a pump gas turbo. I think I can learn to love again. I will more than likley part out my sled and I lots of extra parts I would sell if things work out. I will continue to frequent this forum and I will certainly contine making parts for these sleds as long as somone will buy them. the end of my 900 does not mean the end of my many freindships here.

Just tired of the 900? cheaper to fix the engine than to buy a new one.

That sucks. Let us know what you have for sale, im always looking for stuff!

oh man..thats terrible news kreg.

but i feel for you...i honetly would do the same thing. and every day i go in the garage i wanna punch myself in the face for getting so involved into my 900s...i still regret to this day that built the 2nd 900 from the ground up...i wish i would have stuck with the 05...did whatever to that and if it blew, i would part it out to you guys, get a T8 and use whatever parts off the 900 i could or get a new Pro and be done with all the tinkering...

but live an learn EH!

Ah, but you live for Tinkering Sean. When are you going to have that thing done?

So sorry to hear that you lost your crank
Seems like you made the "tough" decision already,so thanks for being an Organ Donor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pondering the same thing right now. There might be a lot of 900 parts for sale here pretty freakin quick!!:face-icon-small-sho

Thanks guys ! I have another perspective on this since im trying to be in the sled business. It makes sense to move to a newer rider/prototype sled it could possibly come to pass that I end up on a new pro but that would be next to a miracle. if i had the cash it would be done already. I love the old girl but I am affraid the electrical gremlins and those sorts of things are going to begin become a factor. I also love tinkering with my sled or any sled for that matter . the D8 I might get belongs to my best freind and it has more of my goodies on it that my sled does. But he buys the gas!

How much for your whole sled? I'll put another engine in it and have a completely set up sled with a 3 year warranty on the Engine.:face-icon-small-hap

Im thinkin about that ! give me a day or two and get you some good pics and a run down on the sled Im pretty sure I already have your email but shoot it to me in another pm and I send pics that way . Hopefully I will thaw out a bit today in the shop. Its pretty much a giant snowball after being towed out 15 miles tied to my bumper . Maybe the cases are still good and i have a spare core crank that came out of my first greanade. I have lots of other parts too.

Lately it seems like -----

The higher HP Sleds just have issues, just like a Race Car.

If we wanted to ride a 600 HO (685) like my girlfriend you are pretty much bullitproof.

I was concerned I toasted my 900 last weekend, sends a lot of thought thru your mind. But I saw all the guys towing the D8's back to the Truck last year with a Warranty, whats the warranty worth on the Hill ??
Maybe my Insurance company has Towing for Sleds.

I feel for you man especially this early in the Season ---

I bought a D8 this summer with the intention of my 9 being a backup...so far, I still like the 9 a lot better. My 8 is very well setup and has more hp than the 9, but it just doesn't have the right feel for me. Combine that with the fact that it smoked a VR and ECU in the worst possible place this weekend and I'm just not convinced it's the better choice.

Why trade a problem you are heavily invested in for a new problem? I'm seriously thinking of selling this new one and picking up a Cat (but will still hold on to the 9 :D )

That's why I want to buy it Hundo. I can replace the whole wire harness if it has electrical issues and have IndyDan build an engine for it for less than a new sled and I will have a better warranty on the engine. And I just like the low end torque that the 900 has. I am also looking for a back up for my 900.

Time to turbo the 9 and be done with it! you will fall in love all over agian lol!:face-icon-small-hap

there is an 05 166 with a brand new TM3 two blocks from my house that I helped build and install . I have offered to buy. It belongs to a freind of mine and it already has the original prototype 05 RS delete and CC cover on it. if I ever build a T900 a Tourqe master is the only way I would consider begining.

i rode and 08D8 and a 800 pro last weekend I cant tell the diference in them and mine in the hanling dept. the only magor issue is the lack of power and torque in the 800s. the D8 is close but doesnt have that grunt I love going up a steep pull. The pro is to tight to tell how much power it will make.

we will see what shakes out but I guess im just looking for the best way to get the season finished! not riding isnt an option I will sell my soul to the devil or rob a dealership if thats what it comes to.

I have an idea, we can go steal one of Guido's sled since he has two 900's.
