cracked piston

SO I got my engine tore down before I left for afghan. ANd my pto piston was cracked on the skirt on the Injector side, up the skirt and then started up again after the port. Looked like it had been there for awhile, but who knows for sure. Any ideas what woulda caused this. Tore it down cause the pto snapped off. WHat pistons are recommended to use

I'm not sure how it cracked, but OEM Polaris 06 Pistons are the best pistons available for the 900s bar-none!

When your PTO snapped it most likely sent a harmonic tone through engine and cracked skirt, Check your Y-pipe, Pipe and can for cracks also and replace if there are any. I'll post pics of what a harmonic tone did to my pipe later today, Shattered like glass all due to a POS, EPI primary spring breaking.

what year is your 900. but for replacement, trust me oem 06 pistons, been redesigned (only ones you can buy now unless you go out of your way to find 05). if your thinking about going aftermarket search spi under my name..... warning pictures are brutal... LOL not recommended
