Cr500 vibrations

I know this has been talked about before but does anyone have the best method to cut down on the vibes on the cr500... went for my first ride and it is a beast... it is fully rebuilt from the ground up... I was trying not to have to buy flexbars... but the vibes are 20 times worse than the 300... buy the time I went through 5 gallons of fuel my hands were flat out sore....

I have only ridden my CR500 one day but I didn't find the vibes too bad, for sure it vibrates but not as much as I thought it would. My bike came with the basic cheapo 7/8th Pro Taper bars not fat bars so I'm wondering if the thinner tubes dissipate the vibrations better. What bars do you have on there now.

I have e the full size protaper nice ones... I am not exaggerating.. it is pretty bad... I was going to get some silicone and shotgun pellets in the bar?

Also since it's bottomless I have the thing pinned... I used 5 gallons in about 2 hours;)

When I had my 500 I couldn't handle the vibration either hands hurt so bad at the end of the day I could barely let go of the bars. I bought the flex bars and that helped but not enough so I bought the anti-vibration inserts that go inside of them and that did the trick. Keep and eye on your motor mount bolts they will get loose from all of the vibration, I am talking so loose you can rock the engine in the chassis. The cure for the motor mount bolts was nord-locks, I ended up using them for all of the motor mount bolts and exhaust bolts.

Nix the Smartcarb LOL. I do notice the Smarty vibrates more than the Pulse PWK. I have some footage somewhere of a comparison between the two. I'll see if i can find it. Its kinda interesting.

Same bike and motor. One day with Smartcarb next day with Pulsed PWK. Carbs switched out everyday for a week for testing. Vids are quite compelling. Dont get me wrong i like the Smartcarb but at the end of the day its just another metering rod carb with its own set of issues. Take it for what its worth.

I sent out my KX500 crank to Crankworks in Pheonix to get it balanced. They had to add 135 grams to get it balanced. That's like a 1/4 pound... I haven't got to run it yet, but hopefully its nice.

Could you tell idling if it was any better... My handle bars appear to be humming bird wings;) the bars I am sure are the problem but I already have a slew of things that fit the fat bars....

My bars really don't move at idle. I was thinking of switching to fat bars to get rid of the cross bar but now I'm having second thoughts. My bike has vibes but they are really minor after 10 mins riding I didn't really notice.

I had another thought regarding the vibes. I have Cycra bar guards on my bike which I was thinking may help cut the vibrations by basically boxing the ends of the handlebars. Yes, no? Those bar end things posted above just look like street bike weights to me, same concept maybe.

Come on guys man up. I have a kx500 and have rode the cr's.. It's not even that bad. I mean ya they vibrate like crazy but just loosen your grip. Idk doesn't bother me in the least. I squeeze hard with knees so it bothers me more through my legs but the more you suck it up the better it is for next ride.

its not just your body but the rest of the kit. these vibes break things! kx500 was a bolt buster on regular basis!
