CR500 Forks

So I picked up a pretty decent 92 Cr500 which is going to be my ride this season. My question is what are guys doing for forks on these bikes. The 92 has the 43 mm forks, I checked on the TS site and the fork clamps have the same part number listed basically for all years but I know Honda went to a 46mm fork for 96-01. Any thoughts I may swap to a 2005ish fork if I can get it all set up. Will the 43 mm forks work?

I've got a set of 2005 yz 250 forks with triple clamps for sale if you wanted to get newer forks. They have never been used on snow.

Sorry I don't know more about specifically what you are asking.

The 43mm suck bad , anything will be better , get heavy springs for what ever you get tho

I went with 06 crf and they were a direct swap..

I figured the old 43s were a non starter. I am going to look for a newer set of crf forks, they are easy to find.

Travis, dark side it is LOL, cant afford to keep rebuilding the 4t.

New bike build kx500 target hp is 95hp motor is almost done. The bike will be rode by Lee Olive ,he can flat out get it done on a bike. As a snowmobiler track speed is key two strokes makes this happen

Intrigued by the 95 hp number... is this using an unaspirated engine and no nitrous? Are you going big bore?

Must be nitrous or a turbo. Not to many builders can make a KX or CR500 make a true 100hp. Many claims, but the ones that do scream to 10-12,000rpm don't last to long lol. Ask the salt flats guys.

There's lots of ways to get power my goal with the cr500 is decent power with reliability without breaking the bank. Guess we will see how the not breaking the bank part goes.

Unless its a Liger i cant see it. And even then its a stretch. Are you talking crank or rear wheel hp ?

Time will tell ill post a dyno sheet when its done maybe. Ill be told its not true so maybe not. Ill just get back to building snowbikes and less typing
Its crank power as its a snowbike motor

Good luck paul on the cr should be a great bike
