CR500 Alum frame conversion completed

That's the best looking build I've seen. If you want, you could bring it to UT, and I'd be more than happy to get it dirty for you! :beer;:D

yeah, you and my brother too!! I did a resto on a '84 and took it down there to break in and I didn't come home with it!!!!

Power, rumor has it some of them have done 90 hp.
This one is MAYBE 70-75.

Thanks Paul, you thought I would finish it when pigs fly!! :light:

LMAO! Moonie and his monkey bike. Up to monkey business in his monkey suit!!!!!!!

thanks redline.....too kind.

this thing is sweet, it was a cool project to work on, AND I GOT THE MAIDEN VOYAGE!:D

Yeah, I turn my back and you were gone!!!
Thanks for all your help with the assembly and the sweet skid plate. Can't wait to get it put on.

And hats of to Fastrax for top notch support!!! I think they should do conversions as they are not just limited to sleds.....

Very nice build!
My buddy bought a service honda af500 and rides it very little... He is not real impressed with it and says it vibrates.
I think it should be a great bike... I need to ride it and see what I think.
Other than vibration I don't understand why he would not love it.

Each motor has different results with vibes. This is a LONG stroke motor. I had Indy Dan balance my crank and I don't know if that made a difference by actual fact. But mine vibrates less than it did in the steel OE frame. Very minimal.

Lynn,

Sweet build... I think you have Wursten talked into one as well.

That sukka would be a RIOT at Glamis or Ocotillo Wells!

That's a nice looking bike.

Didn't someone try to take a couple of CR 500 cylinders and make a 1 liter out of it awhile back?

Yep! Cutler did it with his first 1000's before he brought out the 1150's.

Nice to see that peeps are still modding the ol' 2 stroke bikes. Iv'e got a 250r that I'm gonna work on this winter. it'll have to do for this summer though.

Nice build BUT......

How long did it take you to get the frame done by TTM? Mikey @ TTM has been hosing people a lot lately, causing lawsuits on payment for work but not producing. One guy in Hawaii has been waiting a year and has paid out $3000 for nothing, another guy I know personally says his frame has been with Mike for over a year and a half, another lost $2000 to Mike and sued him.

Couple questions on the build:

What is the compression ratio on the engine?
What are the other engine specs? Bore, stroke, etc.

Thanks!

I was one of the lucky ones AP. I have heard about all the ripping of people he has done. I guess I am guilty of being thankful mine was completed and then moving on. It took him a whole year to get it done though.

As in the original post, the compression ratio is stock.
Bore is 89.5
Stroke is 79 (stock)

BTW, I am starting another project, considering selling this bike. It as been a fun bike but I want to move on. All of you that know me, I never sit still.
If anyone is interested in discussing this bike, please shoot me an email at lynnwalters1@mac.com
