Cpi pipe with a hps can?

Has any one ran a cpi pipe with a hps can? How does it work? Would it be better to run a cpi twin stinger can? Thanks for the info. this is for an 07 800r

i have two rides on my pipe and can, just trying to get the jetting dialed in but seems to be pulling strong! im going to take my stock pipe on the next ride and do a little compairing,

I have the same combo on my 04. Is the pipe ceramic coated or painted? If it is painted you have to wrap it with header wrap from the Y to at least the 2nd bend. The painted pipe won't make heat. It is to thin. The ceramic pipe does better from what I have heard, but I would still wrap it. It is a hard thing to determine, but watch your rpm. Before I wrapped the pipe I could watch my RPM increase over a long pull up a hill, and it was from the pipe getting hot and working correctly. In a nice warm shop where they are tested they work great, but put them on a sled at 10 deg and snow blowing on them and they won't heat up unless you have the throttle pinned for a considerable amount of time. Then they will out perform a stock pipe, but you have to get the pipe hot.

I have the cpi pipe and the twin stingers on my 07 800r and it sounds sweet. I had the hps can on with the cpi pipe and there wasnt any difference other than the twins sound better.
