Coyote calls??

What coyote calls have you guys had luck with? Have been borrowing one made by wildlife tech. and it works great....but about $900. I have been looking at the foxpro's but have never used one and dont know how well they work...how loud? any suggestions on which ones to look at? looking for one with a remote and possibly an expandable memory to add different calls later.

Never had much luck with electronic calls. If everybody you know uses one, try a mouth call and you will be amazed. And they are cheaper.:D:D

I had really good luck with a Union Bay 1150 on the pipe...bagged me a keeper!! (sorry, couldn't resist). :D :beer;

i am a fan of randy andersons mouth calls. if an e-caller is what you are looking for the foxpro is an excellent choice. great quality sound and plenty loud. the woodpecker on the foxpro drives our dogs wild.

I personally like his calls too. I've used the Kai-Yai (however you spell it.) and also used the fox pro. only advantage with the foxpro is lack of icing up the call in the winter. But have to use lithium batteries which arn't cheap in the winter. And the foxpro works good to put behind you for when they're skittish about coming in close.

I've also heard Nailing and Orange Tabby Cat by his front paws to a fence post works real good to call them in. Have yet to try that one though.

I like that, most of the cats i catch are way too wild to handle:D

we shoot most of ours as they are running away from the pickups. most of our calling is done under a full moon, nothing like laying under a terrace looking up to see ol wylie staring down at you.:eek:

Mainly use mouth calls such as Crit R Call or a Tally Ho. But if Im feeling lazy or its colder than hell, the FoxPro FX5 works great, but a little pricey. Plenty loud and the remote is very handy. Was calling two weeks ago in a very stiff wind, 20-30 mph, nothing was coming into the mouth calls, so tried the electronic and called in three at the next 4 set ups. I think I will start using it more. We'll see how this weekend goes.

a pair of binoculars or spotting scope and a rifle that will do the mile and then some :beer; I use hand calls, they seem to work the best, you dont see pro archery hunters calling in bull elk with electronic calls :light:

Or just keep the bait and skin it. South Dakota Ditch Tigers.

I have not had much luck with electronics on our song dogs. they get hunted pretty hard here. I have used sceery ELK calls, kids toys, sceery screamer, various howlers. lots of different calls. what I have found is that if your setup is good and you are even remotely good on a call they will come if they can hear you.

I did build an electronic decoy. basicly just a rabbit skin I sewed around a kids toy that is a ball that flounders around. I mount it on a piece of fishing line and hang that from an arrow shaft. it gets their attn off of me and lets me pound em' with one of my pistols.

here is my fave coyote pic yet....
