Couple t etec questions

Going to put a TSS turbo on my 12 etec. Are avid drivers a must or have the stock drivers held up? What rear skid options are guys using? Anyone running the stock skid? Thinking baker skid as I have one on my t nytro and it works well.

the stock skids work OK if your not set on climbing anything vertical. They definitely get a little rowdy and like to carry the ski's. If your just into fun and goofing off in the trees the stock doo skid doesn't do terribly. But a coupling skid definitely allows you to let the power take you everywhere very fast.

We have had really good luck running doo drivers on various boosted setups.

I am running a TSS kit with a stock skid on a 12 XP. If I had the budget, I would get the boys to toss in an EZ-Ride while they were installing your kit. In the meantime, I was thinking of trying a set is scissor relocates and set of Toms Powder wedges.

Like Wheel House said, it's a blast in the trees but a real challenge to keep the front end down in the steep.

I ran the stock skid last year with relocate brackets, yes it did ok but you really had to feather the throttle on 9 lbs of boost to keep the front end......Love my Turbo Performance Etec! Just ordered a Kmod last week......

Stock skid sucks when turbo'd IMO... My buddies 12' Etec with TSS just trenches like crazy and doesn't go anywhere like it should. I would spend the coin and do a Bakers or Kmod

I geared up on mine. I can't remember what the stock bottom gear is but I changed the top gear to a 21. This is with a 163. I am running Dynomoe Joe's clutch set up. I am still trying different springs to get the rpm's down.

I geared up to a 21 top gear as well. Stock drivers and skid held up for me. I'm doing an EZryde this seaon though. It is unreal how much better it works for steep technical climbs. If you can open it up and hit the chute pretty straight and not let off, the stock skid is ok. But if you need to let off turn and get back on the throttle, be ready for an inverted rodeo style backflip turn out!
