Couple interesting numbers from Ski D00

Lost the motor in the 07 last month, $4500 to replace.

Buddy lost the primary clutch $2200 to replace, $750 to rebuild.

$4500 -motor
$2200 -clutch

$6700 for a motor and primary clutch.

07 800R new off the show room floor are only $6995 today.

08 800R XP off the show room floor are only $8695 today.

So why won't they just give use new sleds when the blow up, seems it would be cheaper in the long run.

I paid $9524 for my 07 X model, where is my $1000 rebate from Ski Doo?

Why are the dealers the only ones getting the rebates?

Not really all the impressed with what that is doing to the value of the used '07

Anyway just my rant for the day not the SKi Doo is going to do anything for me.

Just paid $2000 for my 06 and $3300 incl the install.

But ya Doo sucks. Maybe should have bought an aftermarket engine. Doubt the new one gunna be any better than the old one. Hopefully get another season out of it.

Short block is $2207 alone, installed by the shop is 3k with pennies being thrown one way or the other. The clutch is pricey, not over 2k pricey but damn close. But yeah.....who cares whn it's not outta your pocket? Other than inconvience(which sucks) but they aren't leaving you hung out to dry like if you bought a dirtbike.

Well--the engine out of my 1000---Guess how much if ya had to buy one Well mine was done unr warrenty--$50.00. ! month before the warrenty expired

They can't keep up with replacement 800R motors, so they're expensive. The HO's are more reasonable.

Holy $hit, Doo must have heard somebody fixed a Yammi 4 stroke and they decided the cost of that repair set a bench mark. And true to form, they immediately increased the cost of repairing one of their 800's (again) to match . Kinda beats the h3ll out of another myth doesn't it.

A 800R short block is roughly $2200...to swap over a couple items is LESS than 1 hour ...to R/R a REV motor is barely 2 hours...so IMHO a labor bill of 3 hours is good, 4 hrs is pushing it....so at $75/HR the total bill including shop supplies is UNDER 2700-2800 bones....SO $4500 is either flat out LIE or some shops are worse than our Government...$2200 for a primary??? BULLsheet-BJ

Everything has been under warranty so far, the reciepts we have got have had these prices on them. Total installed cost of the motor was $4500. Rebuild on the primary was $750 and was told by the dealer that a new one has went up to $2200.

He is also telling us the an extended warranty is $750 for three more years.

If he got a complete new engine - the bill probably showed $4570, even if it was under warranty
