Could you build one of these?

It looks very adjustable so part of that is R&D since they come up with the design.

Plus looking at who the vendor is that makes them explains the rest. Kind of like complaining about John Deere or Ski-Doo parts cost. LOL

But I'm guessing that your upset because there is only $150 to $200 in material for that (those wheels look expensive because I bet they high weight capacity). But the real cost in that is the time it takes to weld that up. Lots of labor in that design I bet.

No, I am not upset or complaining. None whats so ever. There are so many smart and inventive people here on SnoWest that can build anything so I was just wanting some input. :face-icon-small-hap
Actually the wheels are garbage.

its funny when you look at things like that and think to yourself you can probably build one for cheaper Then you add up all your receipts after running all over town finding/getting the right parts and getting things powder coated and paying yourself in time. that its about a wash. Of course the personal accomplishment of building something is worth something though

Well then I want to lower my price. LOL

Yes, there is a lot of truth to that. We called all over to see if we could rent one but no one had one, which kind of surprise us. A friend of ours just happened to have one. My next scheme is to build an attachment (or tool if you will) to attach to the bucket of my backhoe so I can lift roof trusses up for installation on a new house my kid and I are building. It's slab on grade so I am able to drive the backhoe inside the house. I do have a pretty good idea on how to do that. I have two to three weeks yet to come up with something.

Never seen one on a backhoe before but seen lots on the quick attach mounts on farm tractor loaders. it's how we set the trusses at my parents with a larger Deere loader. I bet it will work slick, post up some pictures when you get it working.

I have a pex uncoiler that I haven't used for years would have sold it or loaned it out. I've only used it a couple times don't really care using it.
As for the rafter jib make the boom adjustable in length. Had a 20' for a skid steer and it would have been ice to be able to shorten it up.
