Cottonwood Pass

Was there today. Not good but getting better. Of course everybody has a diff idea of what is good. Roads were great and groomed. Near the main roads what little powder was there was pretty tracked up. I imagine if you look hard enough or know of some secret stashes you can find some good riding.

Beware though, even in the powder you could see snow cracking as you drove across and I have never seen that at cottonwood before. We stayed out of any avy areas because of that.

My .02 worth your mileage may vary.

Thanks Zach....

Just wondering if the bowl has any snow and if I ride up and over are conditions such I can get off of the trail.

Can we make it to the lodge at Taylor Lake for chili?

Thanks in advance.

Yes to Taylor Park. We went to Spring Creek a few weeks ago and it was good. Less snow on the other side of Cottonwood though. Did not get the big storm this week, but will be up on Sunday anyway.....

Looks like it snowed all day yesterday up there, about 3" in town. Was over on Saturday, still thin. Spring Creek was good though.

Zachcreek,
How much fuel do you need to ride spring creek? I have only four wheeled that area and Was a little concerned about fuel, most of are sleds have oil delets on them so we can't just top off at the outpost. I know if I play hard all the way into the lake and back out I only have about 2-3 gallons left at most.

The weatherman made it sound like that area was getting 12-18" last Sunday/ Monday.
We're heading up Sunday so hopefully they got some more last night & today?

Looks like it has been snowing up there all week, have not talked to anybody yet. Probably will get some input today, maybe ride tomorrow.

Went up friday. The snow in some pockets was 3' deep. spent a lot of time tring to follow chris and about 12 of his back country boys. Man can those guys can ride. We where never able to even get as far as they did. Whe only know who it was because Sahen stopped on the way out.

Oh ok, we met you then. We were the group of six @ the bowls @ the end of the day. I was on the blacked out edge. Bummer about your sled. Now you have an excuse for big bore, porting, stroke kit etc:face-icon-small-ton
