Cottonwood Pass

Taylor side had decent blown in snow maybe 1+ feet and was a whiteout when we left. BV side was good too!. I could feel a stump/rock or two but wasn't too worried as there was a good foot on just about everything. :D

update on conditions as of 3/15?

can someone update the current (3/15) conditions at Cottonwood Pass areas? up over the pass into Spring Creek or Italian Creek? :gossip:

Went up the BV side yesterday it was snowing and blowing so bad viability was zero at the top so we turned around. 4-5" fell on my trailer in the 5 hours we were riding and it was still dumping when we left at 3:00 with no signs of stopping.

Me and a buddy are going up there tomorrow on the BV side. hope to see ya!

Most of it was windblown, but there are some good spots. 2 or 3 visible slide areas triggered by snowmobilers, BE CAREFUL

We rode Sunday from the BV side. Saw a couple slides, probably the same that Gmiller did. Lots of wind loading on the W/NW aspects thanks to the upslope from the Friday storm. I didn't see any tracks up into these areas even late in the day when we left, so people seemed to be heeding the warnings.

We found plenty of decent, untracked stuff to play in. The tree riding was really good.

Any News on Snow Conditions. I am hearing bad things about the conditions on the Taylor Park Side of the pass. I am looking to head up to Italian creek from the Buena Vista Side.
Thanks

I left there on Monday and the conditions down low were rideable but terrible. The snow was soft and the road was starting to open up down it the park. I rode Italian and it was in Great shape up high. You should be good as long as you can get there. I do not know how the road over Cottonwood was though.

We rode from the BV side on Sunday with the goal of making it up into Italian Creek. No go on the road at about the 6 mile marker from Taylor Reservoir - too much open dirt/ mud so we headed back. It was a bummer because I think Italian Creek got a good dump of new snow late last week.
