Cost of a new engine?

Mountain Tech brought out there "Fix" for the Pro engine on here last fall and got flamed by everyone who thought poo had it figured out. Problem is they left that short rod in the engine so the side loading on the cylinders is too high. Now Indy Dan has come out with a long rod engine to replace the cfi-4 and is doing the same for the cfi-2 in the Pro's. Aftermarket may end up being the only option for keeping our sleds on the snow.

You think they would find a better casting method or redesign the skirt like thicker? But I bet there is insuffient room to thicken and add more fillet rad? Maybe need to go back and sleeve it entirely? You would think the 700's would have the same problem, but are they a different stroke or just thicker cyl. walls. If I was Polaris the cylinders would be of a different config. to help try and reduce the problem before it does turn into total engine failure! With that said is there any changes to the '13 engine for dependability?
