I thought I would start this new thread. This will include all riding from the Hwy to Corbin, and the Flathead, which is the staging area at the old Corbin townsite. Corbin Country Club grooms the Flathead down to Cutts Cabin turn off and has really stepped up there program this year. There are a lot of threads out there that have Crowsnest pass and fernie together, although only 45-50 min drive from each other, they have a Huge difference in Weather and riding conditions. I support all the clubs in the Area - Crow Snow Riders - Fernie Snowmobile club, and Corbin Country Club, but 98% of my riding is straight out my back gate to Corbin and the FlatHead.
If you would like to join the Corbin Country Club, give me a ring. I do not want to go back to riding the 9km of HELL. If you rode the FlatHead before the grooming program, you know what I mean!!! LOL

Nov. 26th. Verlee and I out back for a ride. We rode the Flathead and had a blast. Corbin Country Club has started the Grooming program and the trail is in great shape.
The boys from Med. Hat rode down to Butts Cabin and said the farther south the better. Played in open meadows for 3 days straight.
I started grooming my trail from cabins on the week end to Tent Mtn
We have a pre-season special on the Cabins. $150/night flat rate. Works out to be about $30/ person. Hot tub out back of Lodge..

Take care:face-icon-small-coo

Letter from the pres

Hello everyone,

I wish to reassure you that things are going well with the Corbin Country Club. We have initiated communication with and established a good working relationship with the authorities at Teck Coal. We have attended their office for a meeting followed with phone conversations. They are being very accommodating, allowing the use of their property for the staging area and will not be closing it this season.

Perhaps you have noticed all the chatter on the internet chat lines concerning the staging area situation and trespassing issues on mine property. Thank you to the vast majority that posted positive, encouraging comments. Unfortunately there have been comments by one or two individuals that have been negative, making false and ridiculous claims of improprieties by mine personnel. This certainly does not help our cause and I hope these idiots are ignored.

We must do everything we can to stop the trespassing problem. We are putting up a large sign on the far side of the bridge leaving the staging area to further explain that everything left, east of the main trail for 5 kilometres is private property. If you observe riders on that property please try to inform them of the seriousness of their actions.

The mine authorities are trying hard to resolve this issue to the satisfaction of all concerned and are planning some fencing next summer along the trail to prevent illegal entry onto their land. This should make our job a lot easier as those few riders that seem determined to enter Teck Coal property will find it a lot harder to do.

We groomed the trail again this weekend and the staging area has been ploughed. The snowpack is coming along nicely and the riding conditions are getting good. The membership sales are going well, up to 30 members now. Also received several positive comments from people in the staging area and out on the trails. Thanks to all.

Thank You,
George Neubauer
President

hey is there any pics of the cabin at fernie or the pipe line
looking to come down before xmas

thx

A little soon to say, but the season is off to fantastic start!! We had some rain down at the Inn, but Verlee posted on her Blog that the snow is falling again, and sounds like we may be in for a good one. Verlee went out for a ride today, so she will probably update her snow report.
Have a look @ www.innontheborder.com and hit "snow report"

Is this a new group, as i i've never heard of them before. been riding the pipeline area for years now, jsut moved to BC and first thing on the list is I intending on buying memberships for the surround area which inlcudes fernie, crowsnest, elkford, and most likely the corbin club.

We groom the Flathead road about 20km down to Cutts Cabin turn off.
We are in the Old Corbin town site at the end of the road before you enter Teck Coal Mtn Operations. Keep going past the Pipeline staging areas, you cant miss it.. I have a membership book at the Lodge. The boys have been out grooming pretty steady over the holidays.

Stop in if you require any more info.. I have purchased a bunch of trail maps supporting the fernie club. There map also covers the Flathead.. Very nice and easy to read.. $10

i WISH i COULD POST SOME NEW PICS, BUT UP NORTH RIGHT NOW WORKING.. vERLEE SAYS WE ARE GETTING SMASHED WITH SNOW RIGHT NOW!!!!
