Cooler axys pro

You could run a Silber or other brand heat exchanger that they use for intercoolers. Not sure on the cost but you can retrofit without disassembling the whole sled.

I went with the sks. Have 2000 miles on it now, zero issues with heat.
Have a 163" track that is going under it next season if it survives the spring riding now.

Rear coolers on colder days just make a big pack of snow and ice at the back. Tunnel is a lot heavier at the back with all that extra snow and ice. It's weight at the wrong place, just like those big fancy tunnel bags. Better off with some sort of front cooler.
Maybe a 174 would have a bit more cooling than a 155 and a 163.

Ordered one Monday.
Going to add it to the PRO 163 3", drop and roll.
Polaris used the cooling system to cut weight easily. The cooling system is marginal in many conditions. The argument that it's a mountain sled and not a trail sled doesn't cut it. You have to get to the mountain first. Spring riding at elevation surely mimics trail ridingif I remember correctly.
Here is the difference in heat exchangers from the Dragon to the PRO. Horsepower and load creates heat, why marginalize cooling?

For anyone installing the mtntek cooler I'd recommend buying some multi grip rivets. The rivets they send with the cooler are pretty low rent.

Please keep this thread alive and let us know how the MTNTK coolers work. After 3 weekends of riding with the scratchers down I am ready to either get rid of my Polaris or do something with the cooling. It gets embarrassing to have to stop every few miles and pack the tunnel with snow while my partners on Ski Doos and a Yamaha are always waiting. I know these are for mountain riding and I am riding in the mountains but this spring has been horrible. Cold at night and warm in the afternoons. Makes for bullet proof conditions and I am not ready to park it for the year yet. I just want to ride.

It's in. Now to get the injector relocate project to the hill.

Whats up with those drop brackets? Doesnt look like axys nor pro-ride ones.

And to answer those who are curious about the mtntk cooler.
I've ran my mtntk turbokit since januari and i've never had to worry about high temp. But then again i rarely run my sled when its rock solid snow out there.

But i do feel the cooler its working good. A friend of mine in his pro have seen higher/rising tempratures during transports where its moderate cooling snow. Meanwhile im stable at all time at lowest temprature.

I thought about going front cooler on my baby-rmk build (pro-ride 137" ), but with my experience from then mtntk cooler il pass on the frontcooler and go a 3 foot mtntk tunnel cooler instead.

Tony put those drop brackets on when he installed the Avid drop n roll and Axys Spindles.

Instead of packing snow, pull the sled over on it's side a bit and hold it back while you make it trench down. Creep ever so slightly forward, trenching down. This technique is very good at cooling the sled and only takes 30 seconds.
