Coolant Bottle

Any PRO riders out there notice a darkening of the coolant bottle? Mine has darkened from the inside, the residue does not wipe off when I rub my finger on the inside. Did not notice this until I received a replacement coolant bottle as my mount tab had broke off, and compared the two side by side.

Yup and the opening is getting ovalized too. I suspect that's from hot coolant with the poor cooling of the Pro version. I really need to get one of those metal ring inserts for the throat on mine. Anyone know who's making these?

Is the discolored part above the antifreeze line ? The first thing that comes to mind is oil and it does not like to wipe out from the inside of a reserve bottle and that your oil and antifreeze are getting to friendly. Keep an eye on your plugs .

No, entire bottle. It's discoloration from heat. Cloud'n up, yellowing. Nothing good about it. Every one I've seen with the side panel open has it after 500 hundred or so, mine too.

i'd blame it more on the exhaust being so close than on hot coolant, the pro's dont run any hotter coolant wise than the dragons did and they did not dis-color. have almost all of the pros do this however

The whole bottle, top to bottom, all hose connections are darkened.

Ya, I noticed one too on Sunday. It was stained dark enough that we had a hard time telling if there was any coolant in it or not.

Yes, it's not the coolant being hot, it's the pipe/motor heat, combined with the plastic they're using. Other OEM's run just as hot or hotter under the hood (crack a doo), and don't discolor like this. What it does to the durability of the bottle is the real issue, if anything. That rivet holder is funky and prone to break. Time will tell on this one.
