cooke city new years results?

who was the big dog?

how are the conditions?

how'd the auction go? arm wrestling?

did team talk behave themselves? i'll be dissappointed if they did.

the 860 won everything.........:p

........wish i could of made it but it was not in the cards - hope you all had fun and were safe

First off, there was no "Normal" Cooke City "Liver Tune" event. No races, no auction, no nothing except for very fun times at a great resort (Alpine Inn) and the Cooke City establishments with their refreshments and eating.

I must point out that I personally blame the demise of this forum for the lack of interest and planning for the "Liver Tune" and auction. It is beyond "sad" that the politics of this 4M scuttled this fine event. There was basically no interest and no commaderie build up of plans due to this dead 4M, and that contributed to no-one donating to the Cooke City Search and resuce like we have for the last 7 years.
On a good note, with all the prior donations from previous years, Cooke city was able to purchase a brand spankin new SKI-DOO XP for a replacement for their rescue sleds, WAY TO GO TEAM TALK and all that helped contribute over the years!! :D

Now for the big schlong details;
There were no races and we all just went out and rode and had a ball, but when all was said an dun, It is never a question of Top Dog when the "Vulgar McCheaterson " Tapex of Hobbes shows up at an event, it is an insane sled.

Second goes to the 860's, they were very competitive and worked great, except for "land mines" and a blown apart Pipe! :eek:

We all conceived sweet hangovers, stuffed ourselves with excellent food, and I even took alot of cash away at the "Hold Em" table :D (Course thats normal :D)

Hope we can get this event back on track next year to support a fine S&R and to be able to RACE EM!, the plans will be made and tweaked other ways I reckon.

Ride safe ya all'!!

We're going to have to work out a new way to communicate, Slim. This had a lot to do with it.

As long as B & C Online Management and Harris make money, who cares, right? :face-icon-small-fro

why no races???

kind of weird, been going to cooke over new years for 3 or 4 years now and no races, or auction...wtf...still had a good time but really like bidding on way over price nick-nacks at the miner to support SAR. I'll try to post a few pictures to show how nice the weather was on Sat.:beer;

I have to apologize that the Pierce group couldn't make it out to make the New Years Shootout!

We usually set up the races and the warming hut and help out with the auction the night following the race.

This year the race got changed from advertised date on the Cooke City Commerce website. Then we got behind work project and couldn't make it till the 3rd.

I have been in contact with some of the locals here in Cooke about how to make this thing happen again and be successful. Please help with input because it is a great event for the Town!

Any questions or comments please hammer away.
