Cooke City Avalanche awereness/ companion rescue

If you are headed to Cooke hit up the Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center lecture and companion rescue field session. Lecture is at 6 pm EVERY Friday evening (Super 8 conference room) and the beacon park will be at The base of Lulu pass this Saturday from 10-2pm. Stop in whenever. This will also take place EVERY Saturday until March. Best part, Free! Hope to see everybody at some point!
Thanks!

Was able to attend this class last Saturday, and have to say they put on a great demonstration. I've practiced with my beacon several times before and felt confident enough in my use of it, but learned much more there. Not only learned on beacon technique/use, but steps to take while probing for someone and best/most efficient ways to uncover them. Was with group of 8, which 3 riders I had never ridden with before, and sure am glad we all attended.

Getting tired of people getting burried up there, think they said 19 people have been killed in Cooke since around 1997. Glad to see this class being put on up there! :)

Bump.
We will be doing the lecture tonight at the Soda Butte, at 6.
Beacon Park will be up Lulu again at the old cabins past the last bridge before the bottom of Lulu pass. 10-2pm Saturday.
