I don't think you guys read Interceptor's "fixed" quote of Nate close enough. Especially the fifth word...:beer;:D

Thanks Nate! Appreciate the thoughts.

Well where to start...........

After watching the Idaho Fish & Game release the base herd at my favorite hunting location 33 years ago, I have always coveted hunting this incredible animal. I have put in for the tag for 25 years once the F&G allowed hunting of them, I use to go mule deer hunting in the same cliffs and would purposely go there to watch the Bighorns fight during the rut, very over powering. 2 years ago SnoJo drew the tag and got herself a lifetime wonderous trophy, now I know how she feels, it is very humbling and rewarding.

We worked for this one, first I want to thank my best friend SnoJo for putting up with my "Sheep Fever", it was over whelming this summer and during the hunt, and she followed me every step of the way!!

This was the second hunt, the first was for 11 days with our great friends TIM (of the 4M) and Mike. TIM is an incredible man, his back country savvy and good nature and unwavering intensity is something you all should be so fortunate to experience, TIM, thank you!! I wished you could have been there for this shot! We saw (or better said, TIM spotted 35 sheep, only 2 Rams, but we let them go).

This second hunt was just Jo & me, we found them where I figured the bachelors band would be, 11 big Bighorn rams, all shooters. We watched them for an hour & half trying to figure which to take, when finally a ewe
walked to my Ram and bedded down right in front of him, Jo whispered to me, "You know, the ladies always pick the strongest, biggest stud in the family, shoot him!" Well the Ram stood up and switched his bedded position, and he was! So I did.

Winchester .270, 130 gr. ballistic silvertip, 300 yds., nearly straight downhill, I had a 12" x 12" window to hit him as he faced us with the front quarter. As the bullet hit him, he just kicked out one leg and laid his head down. Very rewarding harvest, now the pack out was a different story!! :D

Here are some pictures.....................

NICE slim!!!

Tim is indeed an animal when it comes to the back country and hunting.

VERY nice and great to see the other pics too, nice horses, been a great year already, now for some Elk meat, and then some sleddin!!! :)

Spotted ponies:

Big spots (splotches) all over = paint

Small spots on the azz = appaloosa.

Oh and Slim... how can you complain about the pack out? You had horses! lol!

I was actually wondering about this the other day. Congrats Slim. That is a Trophy! Kudos on the great shot.
