Concerned about plug color

Just curious... first off, i know the color is supposed to be a tan brown but i made a trip to the mountains in Valemount B.C. last weekend after getting the latest flash. We rode Allen Creek and the trail is only 8 kms in and climbs to 6800 ft. Between km 5 to 7 you climb 2200 ft. :jaw: My sled ran almost too good on the way up... I kinda got freaked out about it so when I got to the top I decided to check my plugs and they were extremley white!! Figures  My buddy told me that it was probably because it was adjusting to the altitude so quickly. So I kept and eye on it and pulled the plugs every few stops and they got better but they were darkening on one side of the plug and staying light on the other like half and half and stayed like that. The lighter side wasn't exactly white but should've been darker and more cosistant with the rest of the plug! (I'de post pics but my sled is 400kms away from me at the moment) Should I be worried about this?? I'm going again at the end of Feb. Thanks. Matt

Sorry for the long post :bolt:

with fuel injection that is spot on the money it will be a dirty white..so shouldnt be a big concern, might check your piston wash though it will give you a better idea.....

Thanks AK. Check by pulling the exhaust valves or Y-pipe?? Oh... I forgot to mention that the plugs were brand new NGK BPR9EIX... all i've ever ran was the stock champions for 465 miles....

I put in new plugs as well to check for plug color, and for the first few miles they stayed COMPLETELY white. Like band new out of the box white. Talked to my dealer for a while and he was stumped. Told me to crank on a few more miles and check again. I did that and they slowly got some color. Now they look about how your describing your to be. Mechanic says they are about perfect. This is with a PC5 at 1500'

Mine are like this too. Scares the heck out of me everytime I look. This is normal?? My old carbed sled sure didn't get this color.

Having white on your plugs after new plugs and having your plugs have white on them after 50 miles are two different things. Careful to not justify a lean sled.
