Compression test

just wondering the correct way for a compression test? warm or cold engine? open or closed throttle? I've been told different ways! any input would be great, thanks

Warm engine, wide open throttle. Keep pulling till the needle on the compression gauge stops moving. Usually 5-10 pulls should do it.

I always did both... but my understanding is that it is 'warm'.

I've always done mine cold and than hot at WOT.
But a true compression test is at operating temp with your rings sealing.
