Does anyone have any numbers for fuel and max boost if the head shim is pulled on an Apex. Anyone running a 10:1 motor or stock whatever that is, 11:1 or something.

Pretty sure JSCC is running a stock Apex with a boondocker turbo at 14lbs boost and AV Gas 100. No head shim or aftermarket pistons just sock.

Seems to be working well for him.

That is exactly what I am looking for--anyone know for sure what stock ratio is? Any idea what kind of HP that will suppply? How many miles on this engine?

06 Apex boondocker . @350 boosted miles. Stock motor. 12lbs boost
50/50 c12/premium. Still running strong!!!!

Hey Ryan7 pull the shim, fill your tank with c-16 and run 18 pounds!!

Lets check the score:

LoyToy- 3 BD apex engines, 1 alpine apex engine, 15 O2 sensors, 2 helicopter rides, 15 days in the hotel sulking

Ryan7- 5 drunk days in the hotel, 1 O2 sensor, 0 engines

Can everybody else give me advice thanks.

Ryan7, I think the bottom end is really crisp. When you put the hammer down
things happen quick. With 12lbs of boost they said 260hp.

yeah well... maybe if you would grab your balls and be a man and hold that sled to the pin and climb some shoots in Danger Bassin with me you could get a couple chopper rides;)

Thanks Yamboosta,This should change the requirements to change valve springs from the 18# mark with a 9:1 engine shouldn't it?

While the fuel question is flying again, I want to know how hard you can push a stock apex motor on Av if there is no shim.
