So I am new to the area and looking for a good dealership....I might be getting a new XP if I feel comfortable with the dealership. Please give me some info on what you all know, I have heard Felkner is good, I was just hoping a good one was a bit closer!!!! Thanks for all the info!!!

Where exactly are you? Felker is really good but you almost have to be one of his buddies to get a good deal and good treatment from him.

Xtreme is a good dealership too, but he and Felker don't get along. They will all be at the show in OCT. So maybe wait and feel them out there. No pun intended!

IMO, both dealerships have setups that work. I got mine at Xtreme and it rips.

Planet Powersports in Steamboat and Craig are good, they deal and have great customer service. I have bought parts and accessories from RPM in Rifle, and have heard they are good to deal with also. I feel it's important to be as close to your buying/servicing dealer as possible to make it less of a pain in rear as possible, even if I'm paying an extra $500 for the sled, it's still worth it in the end.

Was impressed w/ Steamboat's dealer (prob Planet Powersports?)

I went in looking for an 8" wheel to replace my MMP with a mangled bearing...that had then started chewing up the wheel itself.

He then said, let me take a look at the wheel you have, took it back and they were able to remove the bearing and install a new one...for the price of the bearing.

I was real happy about that, when I planned to go in and spend $120+ for a new wheel/bearing.. and spent maybe 25$ instead.

Its nice finding the guys that aren't ONLY out to make that extra buck..

My buddy has gotten good deals on machines out there. Great place to deal with.

I am in Carbondale, which is 45 minutes to Rifle, 1.5 hr to Grand Junction. I am looking at getting a 800 154 and want to have a dealer that will make my stuff run, I don't care for the BEST deal type of dealer. My previous dealer, put my riser in, light weight a-arms, some look goodies, all I had to do is go pick it up. Granted we rode together most weekends, and I know that won't happen here.....BUT I still so be able to get a great set up, and when or if there is a problem I can take it to them, they fix it asap and I am back out riding. No sitting in the shop for weeks/months trying to figure the problem out while I am sitting at home.....that is NOT going to work for me. Thanks for all the opinions and experiences!!!!

Its an XP. Dont be surprised if you take it home from the dealership and it doesnt work

;)

I know nothing about doo's or doo dealers but isn't there one in leadville? If you are going big ole yammi the glenwood springs dealer is pretty nice. I know when of his techs is pretty good.

I think that there is a Doo Dealer in GJ. I have never heard anything about them though.

I know that Xtreme spends countless hours in the field testing set-up after set-up and when you buy your sled its oil, gas pull and go. I ride on RE/Buff Pass and they ride up there most of the time. They do 2 Test and Tune rides, one in the Spring and one in the early Winter. You can test ride the new metal and ask questions about your current ride. I have seen them take sleds that they haven't even sold, pull them into the trailer and tune them up right in the lot for guys that are having problems.

Felker tends to spend all of his time in the Snowies so he is probably a tad far from you. But I have seen his stuff and it runs very well.

I kinda figured the best dealers for performance were either Felker or Extreme. Felker has been pretty hard to beat over the years for tuning and performance. I've also heard and seen good things from Extreme as well. I'm sure there are plenty of other good ones but these were the two I knew of.

RPM in Rifle and the one in Denver are totally different shops. Parts are the only thing I would buy from RPM in Rifle and I would have to be very desperate for that. They would be one of my last choices for performance.

The Ski-Doo dealer in Grand Junction seems like they might have their stuff together in the performance.

I bought my 07 from Power World, good guys, set everything up and a good deal. Because Leadville was closer I went to 2 mile high ski doo and Russ overthere was top notch. Small shop but top notch work.

Felkers

If you are looking for a super good deal, just call around.... BUT if you want the best running sled, go to Felkers. I had a 07 XRS & have a 08 XP. On both sleds I didn't have any of the clutching problems I keep hearing about. The best mountain tuner in the area. He also can give you any level of mod you want. He has a great big wheel kit. If you don't have a sled yet, I think he has a few 163's & 154's left. He is very loyal to those who buy sleds from him. I think that is a + rather than a -. He doesn't give his knowlege away for free. Lynn gets along with everybody. The only people that don't get along with him, are the ones that keep getting beat by him.

You may be surprised as I was! It is a beautiful place! The area and town are really nice. If you can tag along, do it. It will be worth the trip!

Xtreme is the only place I would bother with. I have experience with Felkers and Xtreme. I couldn't be happier with Xtreme. The sled we took to Felker ran like poo, I know you won't hear that often, because I heard all the great stories as well, but with us we got burned.

Felkers treats you good if they know you, if they don't....

Every sled we have bought from Xtreme ripped right away, no changes were needed. They do a lot of test and tune.

Hummm... Another guy that keeps getting kicked by the Felker sleds... Very typical for Extreme people to bash Felker.
