cold air intakes

Anyone here make up a cold air intake for their m series? I looked at the one twisted turbo sells but I was thinking I could make an air box up in nose of sled down low where air is the coldest. The twisted one looks good but wouldn't the motor heat warm that area up some? Pics would be great if anyone has a nice one figured out.thanks

just installed my twisted cold air a few weeks ago, i dont think engine heat will be an issue, it totally isolates it off from the rest of the motor compartment. The actual plastic that goes from head light area to turbo i put reflect-ant tape on it. Probably doesn't need it but i did it anyway, should help keep intake temps a little cooler.

this is what i did for my cold air intake, hope i like how exposed it is.
comparing it to the under hood charge temps of last year,
last year on the trail i saw charge temps averaging 80 degrees
this year with the intake outside the hood i was seeing 35-42 degree temps
this is on the trail....

not enough snow to see what the temps will be off road yet.
last year i saw temps around 130-160 off trail boondocking in pow.

i hope to be around 80-110 max charge temps this year when boondocking.
we shall see, but im sure it will be much better....
