Clutching Questions

Have a 2015 Pro with a Carl's 660 kit in it. Fun sled. Maximum elevation I ride at is 7,000 ft. I think that the clutch engagement is pretty hard. Went to a 120/340 spring in the primary from a 140/330. This helped some but is still not smooth engagement. Anything else I can do to make engagement smoother? Second question: sled has Carl's clutching in it and they use Belly Buster weights. Any advantage of running the Belly Busters over the stock Polaris weights in the Primary?
Thanks in advance.

Two things to check for smoother engagement.

Belt to sheave side clearance

Belt deflection

Primary Clutch Spring

Our Carl's 660 kit we use the 140/330 spring in (the stock 800 spring), but if you wanted a softer engagement, I would suggest going with the Black/Green spring. It is a 120/340 spring rate, so it will come in a bit softer, but I would watch for over revving, as it might raise your peak RPM just a little.

The Belly Busters that we run have the same profile curve as a series 10 Polaris weight, but the weight is distributed differently. They hit harder on the bottom, and seem to shift faster than the stock weights. The stock weights still work well, but we prefer the EPI's as they seem to perform better.

If you have any other questions, give me a call and I will be happy to discuss any questions you have!

Checked both and they were good.
Thanks
What is the belt to sheave clearance?

I use the black/green spring on my 910 pro-xr along with a 911 cover (adjustable belt to sheave clearance), it is the smoothest and softest engagement i have ever felt (i like my B-S clearance around 0.012).

Not positive on belt to sheave clearance. My riding partner had sled in his shop last week and measured it and said it was good. Primary is at Carl's as we speak being balanced. Am running black/green spring. Will check clearance when clutch gets back. Chris at Carl's has been great answering questions but put this out on SnoWest because I felt I was bugging Chris too much.
