Clutching Question

I'm new to the TRA Clutch. So with the first ride with my 06 Summit 800 AD the RPM's were at 8200, on setting 5. On the settings table on the belt cover it states max RPM's to be 7800. I drop the setting down to 4 and get 8000, drop it down again to 3 and still at 8000. Now I really like the way it pulled on setting 5 and 4, but 3 I don't like. Anyhow, how bad is it to go over the 7800 RPM's? I'm getting a top speed of 60-65MPH, does that sound about right? I have a 151. My riding elevation is 8500-12000 ft.

Any thoughts or recommondations. I'm coming from a 99 Summit X 670.

we ran our 06-159x in clicker 3 at 7800-7900 rpms and it was perfect---i personally dont like 5 and prefer not to run in 4 unless its reaaaal deeeep and 3 wont cut it---clicker 5 sounds good but we never have the track speed as 3 or 4 jmo

I think some of these sleds are known to have the tach read a little low so you may be in the ballpark at 8000rpm , not sure witch years this is the case,
you could try adding a little pin weight, you'll have to just try a few things to see how it reacts and go from there, i wpuldn't go too crazy changing things as it sounds like your;e close
good luck , happy tuning

I agree, the tach may be off a little. If it seems too be pulling good at the #4 setting, I would use that. You are not going to blow the motor by over reving 100 or 200 rpms. Like they say, "If it feels good, keep doing it!"
