Clutching question on XRS

My old man has an '07 XRS 159". Cant seam to get any revs out of it.

Thought it was a primary bushing so had that changed but this did nothing. Clickers were on #4 and running at 7500 rpms. Set the clickers to #6 and still reving to around 7600~.

Some say it might be the primary spring...........I dont know.

Any help is would be great!

They have issues with primary spring cap bushing, roller bushings and secondary bushing. Best bet is to go to a Team secondary, stock primary setup with some cheap aftermarket rollers. PM me for more details, I also have a '07 159 and it rips.

Stock clutching was great earlier but somthing has changed. Just wondering what the problem could be. Sled usually rip!

My old man doesn't want to spend alot of money on a new secondary or the clutching if he doesn't have too.

The 07 primary needs to be rebuilt a little more often than most , rollers, buttons & O rings, maybe cap, maybe ramps, maybe main bushing. How many miles on it? Does he keep the faces of the clutches clean? When was the last time he cleaned them? The secondary on the 07 was pretty good.

Pull the secondary apart and see the amount of slop between the helix and bushing.

The sled has relitivley low miles, under 1000 I think.

The clutches were fully gone through and parts were changed last season so it has 1 season on the clutches and he doesn't ride alot either.

Someone said it's the primary spring but I dont know about that. Adjusting the clickers seams to have little or no effect. If i were to guess, i'd say a seconday problem, like the spring letting the clutch shift to early......... weak maybe?

Oh, belt deflection looks good too.

it also could be i know on my 07 rev rpm was way down thought it was clutching (they do have a poor clutch set up) but what it was if you follow the hose from your rave cap it goes the one on the pullstart side it goes to a valve solenoid just on top behind your carb it may be disconnected
(the 07 prone to doing this) you will not get proper rpm to fix i took off the brutal clamp they come with and used a small hose clamp the other solenoid valve the clutch side is supposed to not have a hose so dont be allarmed by that to access it more easier you have to take your air box off a good picture of it all is to type ronnies snomobile on google go down to mail order click there go to oem parts click there then scroll down page put in snowmobiles make year type then it will take you to all types of easy to look at pictures of the 3d rave set up and lots more
