Alpine is my stomping ground. I clutch for 6k-8k, 10-62s. Works great. The vast majority of your riding will be in this range.
Blind Bull is over 9k, and you can easily get to 10k, but most of your other riding will be under 9k. If you have 10-60's bring'em, just in case, but start with 10-62's on an avg stocker. Don't know your weight, gear, the motor likes RPMs.
Kylant,
I live in Truckee and have been riding in Alpine the last few years. I run my Tahoe clutching here (with ethanol setting on).
If you need a little more rpm, you could switch to non ethanol setting since the fuel here is non ethanol.
I'm riding Utah tomorrow and Alpine on Friday.
Will I see you this trip or next time?
Next time. This is a quick hitter with Eric. Val is buried with work, but I've got a second TMX motor going in her sled when I get back.
Are you back riding yet?
heavier the rider less weight in the primary?
heading to Togwotee for the week, not going to ride in alpine
i will throw the 10-60s in the primary. should i put the black purple spring in the secondary?
thanks
That can be the case.
I've seen where a big dude was clutched just right and his wife hops on, stabs the throttle and hits the rev limiter.
I couldnt get my mds weights light enough to see over 8000 in cooke. I didnt change my secondary tho. This year im going black/pink slp and 58s primary and black purple team secondary if we go to cooke again.
I want to say the blue/pink is 140/360.
Can't remember what the black/pink is. What is your engagement?
58 grams MDS is definitely not apples to apples with Polaris 10 series weights.
