ive heard of guys running 19/42s stock chain, how about 18/41s?

also anyone change their primary spring to one that has a higher rpm engagement for more off the line jam.

Can't run 18 41 on stock chain, to much slack. You can run 19 with a 41, 42 or 43 if you have a 1000 miles on it. Im running 19 43 with team green 150 340 primary and black purple secondary. Also have a 58 40 .36 helix and 60 gram belly buster. Gearing and primary spring are untested for me. I'll find o ut tomorrow how it works. I ride 6 to 8000ft

In my experience, 18's wear or break a tooth much faster than 19's. I would recommend a 19 tooth top and keep an eye on it if your engine has any jam.

19/43? what is your top end? right now i can do 90 mph, want to drop that down and get some more low end out of it for more fun....

i may put a 19 on it and see how i like it and then get a 43 if i want more.

Like said above 19/43 well only work with a worn chain! I found this out today mines not worn enough. I'm going to try 20/45 with a 78 pitch chain.

19/43=2.26
20/45=2.25

Don't have any idea how fast it will go on trail with 19 43. Today I was pulling 40 mph track speed and 8200 rpm at 8000ft on a good pull with set up snow.that's all that matters for me.

thats what i mean, I dont need it to go 90 mph on the trail. Ill try the 19, i guess ill have to go to a 42 not a 43.

an 18 tooth top gear will eat up your chain a lot quicker and you will have to replace it sooner. Its better to get a bigger bottom gear and keep the 19 top gear. I run 19/46 gearing on my 2010 Dragon 800 163. I had to get a longer pitch chain to accomodate the larger bottom gear.
