clutchin

I have a 04 switchback 144 and the primary has never been touched as far as I know wit 6 thousand miles on it so I am thinkin of a rebuild wondering how hard it is never played wit them before and what to run I ride sea level to probly 1500
Thanks

A new spring would probly help, but I would go farther than that. I would replace all your cam arm bushings a check your spider for wear. With that many miles you might want to look at the secondary spring and helix for wear also. All work is very easy to do only special tools would be a clutch puller hope this helps

After 6000 miles I would take it in to the shop and get it redone. It will need new buttons or at the very least will need shims put under them to get the button to tower clearances within spec. Also the weights probably have grooves in the face of them and will need to be replaced. The spring may need replacing as well. The most important of all these is the buttons in my opinion. That is because if there is too much clearance the spider can rock as it moves up the tower and cause wear troubles. If you want to do it yourself then you will need to buy a clutch puller, spider removal tool, jam nut tool as well as having a torque wrench capable of reading 250 ft. lbs.
