clutch

i would like to know if any one has ran a different primary clutch for the 800 R motor and if you did what was it did you like it or not? thanks for the help

A lot of info over on Dootalk on this subject. To make a long story short, the P-84 Poo clutch works great but is too light and most are breaking their crank stubs; not recommended. Aftermarket clutches have been grenading on the 800R. The TRA-III works but will wear out fast on an 800R. The TRA-VII is actually a decent clutch once you get the updated bushings and Tom's clutch kit - his kit solves the weak belt clamp issues with a proprietary clutch arm and anodized pins to prevent wear and binding. Also has new rollers coming out in the fall. Expensive but worth every penny - he knows how to get the TRA-VII to work!

Have FUN!

I have run a P-85 on 800R. As said, the lighter clutch changes the harmonics/resonance and is harder on components. Some guys have added mass (homemade ring gear mass) to the P-85 and had good results.
I noticced no gains in performance vs a properly setup TRA.
