Started sled and was going to load into trailer. As soon as I let off the gas it died. tried to restart it and while pulling on the rope, the track would turn.:face-icon-small-fro. Had to pull the sled backwards and lift tail end up and drop it to get it to disengage. I am gonna tear into the clutch today. Any ideas????? thanks

well could be a couple things, how many miles r on the sled?? when was the last time the clutches were cleaned??? could be gummed up and sticking....

also, on ur secondary clutch, belt defelection could be set too firm and grabbing the belt..

good luck!

Sled has about 800 miles. I put a turbo on about 500 miles ago. New weights, springs everything done then. I blew a belt and am thinking it is full of belt scum.

How are your rollers? I have seen sleds where the rollers were worn so bad the weights jammed on the spider not letting the clutch disengage.

clutch problem

had the same problem on my old ladys 04 edge, bushing was hanging up on shaft , dealer replaced bushing and had to clean up the shaft with some 400,
was told it was caused by heat , changed the gear ratio and clutch weights:face-icon-small-hap

Ok well I tore both clutches off and cleaned the back clutch real good. Pulled the front clutch and quickly found a broken spring:face-icon-small-sho. The clutch would not slide up or down at all. I had to tap it with a hammer to get it to slide. Cleaned the sh!t out of it and put a spring on. Tried it and it seems like its gonna work. The weights and bushings seemed real good. Didnt tear down to the spider. Gonna ride tomorrow and see how she goes.
