Trying to figure out if Polaris is putting in different Clutch Sets up on different Pro's..

Say you live in 1200 - 2000 ft


OR 2000- 4000 Should be 66G???



6000- 8000

8000 to 10000 or 12000 Should be around 58G???

Seeing What works and what doesn't.......

What is the RPM of engagement??? 4000 RPM??


Well i have heard... Just one Gram will throw these off from a ok sled to "This Thing RIPS!!"

Any info on this yet???

Mine came with a little tag that said it was set up for 6000-8000'. I would assume they come clutched differently.
 
All of the RMK's I have purchased throught the years were set up for higher elevation (clutching and jetting on the carb sleds). My local dealer has had to set up the sleds for our riding elevation (1000'-4000'). That is part of a good dealer set-up in my opinion, not just install ski's, windshield, handlebars, etc. I guess that is why some guys have cool clutches, great belt life, correct TPS and oil settings, and a sled that they are happy with from day one. You've heard it before, "a good dealer is worth a million bucks".
 
Mine came with 10-62's. Then the dealer changed it to 60's. I will try them and see, but I have 58's just in case. I think a buddy told me each gram is about 300 rpm's. I could be wrong but that seems about right.

Snocross guys taught me that each gram is about 100-150rpms. That would make about 250-300rpm differenceby switching from 10-62 to 10-60. I have found it is closer to 100 rpm per gram but just my expierence

That makes sense since most of the weights are in 2 gram increments. So jumping from 58's to 60'2 would be 300 RPMs.

I'm at 8,000-11,0000 ft
 
First thing you need to do is weigh and balance your weights-find out what you really have. Poo says +/- 1 gram but I've seen more. Most weights are over the listed # but not always. If you have a set of light ones and a bud's are heavy that could account for 200 RPM dif. between sleds...not insignificant. You can tune 100 R's with the primary spring or by grinding on the weights.
All that said it's really a waste of time to spend much time clutching a sled until break-in and even then wait for deep snow conditions. You can pull more weight on hardpack or roads and then "fall on your face" when you hit deep snow.
 
all the pro rmk's come with 10-62's. they all have a tag attached to the gas cap that says it is set up for 6000-8000ft elevations. A good dealer will ask the customer if they want weights for lower elevation and if they do they will switch them out for them.
 
i run 64s on my 700 at 0-2000, and 58s at 6000-8000. I sold my 62s to a guy going to the same 6000-8000 elevation with the same motor! he also ran 66s at home compared to my 64s.......as far as i know my 700 runs great but just saying its not always by the book. I didnt find out how the 62s worked but i told him i was going to run 58s and they were perfect, but by rule of thumb he should have ran 60s.
 
Belly Busters are such good weights, really woke up my IQ stocker and now I Have a set of 74's and 76's for the turbo this season. Cant weight, sorry for the poor play on words

YES.. They seam too pull HARD...


Thinking i will need 68 for around here 1200FT

and 60 for Albany 8000 to 10000ft
