I put schmity's brace on my '08 this year because of the horror stories on dootalk LRD has posted. I changed out the driveshaft at a bit over 1000 miles just after xmas, while it was apart I gave the tower a thorough checkover and found no signs of movement or any cracks on the tower. bolts were tight, everything looked fine. installed the brace but didn't experience the rpm drop others have reported after installation. peace of mind is the biggest benefit (to me) so far, I ride with several other unbraced '08 and '09 XPs, we'll see if there are any failures with them I guess.
