Ok quick run down I bought a 98 rmk 700 2 years ago. It has a CPI 760 big bore porting twinn pipes and boss nos. Before I bought I rode the sled it ran strong and had good compresion so I bought it. First ride out I lost a piston ring on the trail to play so it sat till now.
I rebuilt the motor and did some new mods to the sled and now im looking into the clutch and gear set up and this is the area of a sled I have not played with much so this is what it is running.
Primary has a white square looking spring and 10-66 weights.
Sec has a silver spring with a blue stripe and a r-8 helix with the spring in the #3 hole and the external adjustment is in the 5 position.
Gears 21 top 43 bottom
It had a 151" track with 9td 2.52 pitch.
It now has a 162" track with 7td 3.0 pitch.
I do have a 19t and a 20t with a smaller chain as well.
Any thoughts would be great on this set up.
Also I im running 250lb and I ride about 50/50 hill shooting and trees and around 9000' elev.
Thanks for any help.

Well you said anyone so you got it!:high5:
By your post I'm gonna assume your not familiar with this so hope this is what your looking for.

The white square spring is a polaris almond square and going off my poor memory is a 140-330. They had issues and it's a 50-50 they went in upside down if a person didn't know them. Ditch it and use a new round one.

The silver/blue is also oem and you will have to try it to see if it's enough spring for your application. Although an old spring is not one to test with.
R-8 is a 50-34, use it.

The adjuster ring on outside is used to set belt deflection.

With an old sled you must rebuild or buy new clutches or else your fighting poor performing clutches at the same time your tuning in the new setup. That includes springs and weight bushings.

Going to the new drivers geared it down.
with the old drivers assuming 1-1 shift and 8000 rpm it was @84 mph
now @78 mph. Sounds good.

Minus thank you for the reply as far as knowing whats up with clutching I am just starting to lern even though I have been rideing for about 20 years and mod sleds for the last 6 or so I have never really messed with clutching besides cleaning them.
I just picked up a used primary clutch from indydan that had been gone through and balanced and my secondardy looks to be in good condition I did instal new buttons and the spring looks brand new so I think I will try it and see what it does. I will purchase a new round alomond spring as the square one looks fairly old and sounds like they are junk anyhow. I also think I am going to drop the top gear down a tooth to 20.
If anyone else has any input I will gladly take it.
