Clutch Removal 2006 Rev 800

I burned up my drive belt and can't get the clutch off. The engine is all bound up due to belt winding getting jammed in between the clutch and engine block. I removed the outer portion of the primary clutch and the secondary, but I can not get the inner portion of the clutch loose from the crankshaft. FYI I am not using a puller. Is there a way to get the clutch part off the crank? Anyone gone through this before? I am concerned I have damaged my crankshaft seals with the belt winding. Thank you in advance my doo friends!

Put 4 or 5 wraps of teflon tape on threads of clutch bolt. Put sledon its side and pour water in center of clutch where bolt came out of. Thread in the bolt and the pressure from the water will pop clutch off ease. I will never use a puller again

The outer portion of the clutch did come off for me using water as discribed. I am having difficulty getting the inner portion of the clutch off. The belt binding is wound around this area, caught between the back of the clutch and the engine block.

it shouldn't remove the front, the water method is used to remove the back half. either you didn't use enough teflon or you didn't tighten it down enough.... try again. tip sled on side, with outer clutch on fill the void full of water, 6 wraps of teflon applied counter clockwise (if viewed from the head of the bolt looking towards the base of the bolt), drop the bolt in and tighten away. I used a small battery impact; I've heard the "blows" help... when she pops she really pops!

when you put it back together make sure you reassemble it properly, each removable part has a timing mark for alignment!

Yep, the outer half is splined and just slides off....the water method will work to get the inner sheave off, it's just a matter of getting the teflon tape to seal and not allow the bolt to go past the threaded portion of the sheave shaft without leaking....the pressure WILL pop the remainder of the clutch. It might be easier to put the outer half back on so you have something to hold on to?
