Clutch question... cam arms rubbing on sheave

I just picked up an 04 900 MC with just under 1000 miles. Upon looking it over today i noticed that the cam arms on the clutch seem to be rubbing on the sheave and in one case causing some wear on the sheave.

I assume this is not normal, should I loosen the set screw and center the arms? Is it that easy or am I missing something?

Thanks

re set

Yes, loosen set screws after heating with small torch, reset set screws on the drilled bolt indented recess spot, confirm that with LED flashlite and make sure you're going to have the set screw in that pocket. Some loctite on that little set screw is good.

I cat tell for sure but it looks and sounds like you are missing a o ring. The weight bolts should have a o ring on each side. One on the bolt head side and one on the nut side. this is what keeps them centered.

Put a pry bar or large screwdriver in between the spider and the sheave and pry the clutch together a little and leave the screwdriver stuck in it to keep them wedged.
the cams should be hanging free now. Take the nut off the cam bolts then take the set screw loose. You need to heat the weight at the set screw, (red loctite) loosen it a couple turns. You will probably have to tap the bolt out with a small punch. Put a O-ring on the bolt and slide it back in. Notice the groove in the head of the bolt is in line with the little dimple for the set screw. Put red loctite back on the set screw and tighten. Put a O-ring on the end of the bolt, put some blue loctite on the threads and tighten the nut untill you have taken up any side play. Pull the screwdriver out before ya fire the beast up.

I dont know exactly what the difference is but I use green loctite on mine. You still have to heat it to get it off. I do know that the green is a wicking loctite so you can put it on AFTER the set screw is on and it will wick its way into the threads. Not saying red is wrong, it is probably what they came from the factory with. green is just what i had when i took mine apart.
