Just went to a 151 from a 144 on my '02 700. Great change. I regeared to 19/45. Seems pretty good. It's definitely slower, but far more responsive.

I just went to a 156 from a 144, I regeared also - 19/46. Same results as LB_ - it is turning more RPMs on the road, but overall, much, much better. I don't know what my top speed is; 100% mountain rider, will go fast on roads, but "fast" to me is 40-50mph. I have no need to go faster than that, and once where I want to be, actual speeds are probably in the 30s. I'd guess it'll still go 70-80mph.

I had one of these great 700's once upon a time. Best setup w/ the 151 I found was 19/44 gearing & straight 47 helix set at 22lbs preload. Stock I think was 50/47 around 17lbs. also changed the ramps in the primary from
293x's to I think 287's (someone correct me if I'm wrong here) Doo dealer had fixed me up on this. Was an all around fun sled just wanted more. Shoulda kept her.

As for the 500 clutch I got a feeling the taper is not going to fit on the crank, the splines will be different and even the sliding halves will not interchange (shaft diameters) The only sure way to know is try it.
