Closed Threads

Been noticing some closed threads on here lately....disturbing.

I think a moderator should explain why he/she is closing a thread before it is closed so the rest of us arent sitting here scratching our nutz thinking WTF?

Make your post...explain it...and close it if you must.

just my .02

I believe the person that started the thread can close it as well. Maybe that is what is happening.

Been my experience that if a moderator thinks its going wrong the thread just gets nuked instead of closed.

Doesn't necessarily mean a moderator closed it.

Whenever ANY thread is locked it's because it drifted too far off topic and got too rowdy or obscene. MIGHT have been closed by a moderator, OR by the original poster.

Sometimes all the garbage is deleted so the thread can be left intact...but often they can be also closed for a "time out", then reopened later. I've done that several times.
Sometimes those fire back up again in a week or three...so they get locked or nuked eventually. LOL

I'm sorry if it's disturbing to you...Why does it disturb you? Sorry you don't like it, but that's they way it is.

BTW, I only see one thread closed in General. That's 1 thread in the first 50.

Thanks for the explanation. It bothers me because I may have something to add to the thread and I didn't know why they were being closed or who was closing them. I didn't know I could close my own thread...now I do....thanks again.

Just an FYI.

It is NOT at all uncommon for a member to send me a PM asking that his or her thread be shut down because they feel it has been "hijacked" and taken in a different direction than what they intended for it.

Free Members can NOT close a thread without asking for a moderator's assistance.

Premium Members CAN close any thread they started, at any time for any reason.
