Cleaning the VES valves on a '12 Pro

Was going thru the owners manual a bit today and read that the VES valves should be cleaned every 500 miles. I've got 980 miles on it now and have never cleaned them. The sled runs great with no issues that I can tell. Has anyone had problems with the valves? How can you tell if the valves are sticking or dirty? Also, are they easy to clean yourself or is this a trip to the dealer? Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Oh, it's an 800

Pretty basic maintenance. Get a service manual and you will see how easy most sled maintenance is.

The assembly is really a PITA to pull apart and clean the individual components individually, but all you really have to do is take the pipe off, remove the two steering column bolts, unhook the hoses to the assemblies, and pull the assemblies out whole ... then spray them out with carb cleaner .... I spray the an SOS pad with carb cleaner and work it around the ports, then wipe the guillotines down with an SOS pad and plenty of carb cleaner. Doing that once a season and using an EV-friendly oil should leave your EVs stick free for the life of the sled.

Simple.... Dont even have to take the pipe off.

Just undo steering mount above pto valve, turn skis to the happy spot and sneak the pto valve out after pulling the cap/spring.

Mag side valve comes right out.
