A friend said it was decent snow in places, but still seeing grass through the snow.

No Base on the hills, you will hit stuff. The meadows need another 2 ft for optimal riding.

I hit more buried stuff in an hour than I ever have in my life and that was after the last real snow. Needs a couple more feet for a smooth off trail ride. The groomed trails and some of the single tracks are tracked in well as there are tours going on now. There are pockets of good snow, but I wouldn't make a trip out of it. Anything that has been logged is no fun and there are willows and grass showing in all the meadows.
