Christopher-- help with Tapatalk app

Christopher-- In one of your recent FB videos you mentioned the upgrades to the forum and Tapatalk making access easier. Trying to get Tapatalk app to work on my cell phone I upgraded to recently. I log in to Tapatalk and try to log in to forum where it says "Forum Username/Email Address" and "Forum Password" and I get this error message from Tapatalk:

"You are not logged in or you do not have permission to perform this action."

Is there any forum thread you can link me to that has a tutorial on the new Tapatalk features for an Android phone. I'm finding I use my cell phone for more things like watch your video posts and a host of other websites that have seperate apps like Ebay, Facebook, Walmart, etc.

So TapaTalk support ended several months back when the new SnoWest App became available.

The new SNOWEST APP link. !

Gotcha.
Just released the install instructions to the Moderators last night for testing purposes.
The app is now up and running and I think running well.
Its only the installation process that seems a bit Janky right now.
For some of the mods, it works on the first try, others have had to go through it twice to get it to install.

Step #1.
Since you are reading this thread, I will assume you found SNOWEST.COM/FORUM and that you are doing so on your Phone or Tablet or other Mobile Device.
((If you are on your desktop, you will obviously need to whip out your device to install the App ))

Scroll up to the TOP LEFT CORNER of your screen and you should see something like this if you have not yet LOGGED IN.

OR
If you have already Logged In
You will need to click on the THREE BLACK LINES to open the Menu.

Once the Menu is open, scroll down to the BOTTOM LEFT corner to the INSTALL THE APP and click on the button.

When you click on the INSTALL button a generic XenForo Forums video will begin playing.
This video will quickly loop through the following screens, and then repeat itself over and over again.
((This video is LESS THAN WORTHLESS in my humble opinion)) but we have to work past it.

STEP #2.


Look down below the pop up window at the VERY bottom of your screen.
Find the SQUARE icon with the UP ARROW coming out of it.
Should be dead center at the bottom of your iPhone Screen

CLICK on that ICON and a MENU will appear.

The next screen you see will be this.

Your device SHOULD Auto-Fill in the Name of the Forums AND the direct URL.

Click on DONE and a new SNOWEST ICON should appear on your home screen.

In reading through your instructions you reference to icon positioning on an iPhone, and the thought occured to me that I am looking to install this on an Android device. Is this only available for Apple products at this time?

And this is why this is in TESTING right now and I haven't pushed it out to everyone just yet.
Last night one of the mods ran into this same problem, only to discover that he had previously installed one of the early versions of the App on his phone.
he had to go and REMOVE that old version, then the new one installed.

This morning another mod reported exactly what you are.
He logged out of the forums, closed the browser and tried again and the INSTALL icon appeared.

Sorry if I came across as being pushy. That was not my intention whatsoever, sir. If it's not ready for the masses, that's fine. Better to have a product worthy of sharing than one plagued with problems that "leaves a bad taste" in people's mouths.

I will say I am finding navigating the SnoWest forum on a mobile device on a web browser easier and less cluttered than on my laptop. I have not been as active on the forum as I used to be because of this. (Having a stroke 5-1/2 years ago contributed to the "cluttered" feeling). This is why I find using apps on a phone easier to use because they are "simplified" so to speak.

So I will wait patiently until you get all the bugs worked out. Like fine wine, good things take time. Thank you for your time, Christopher!

So far as I know ABSOLUTELY ZERO.
BUT...

That app on an iPhone is aimed at Safari.
So anything that Safari may collect is out of my reach.

As for me and the forums.
I do not Sell, nor Rent, Nor Loan, Nor Lease any content in the forums.

Incidentally, I had to use the steps Idcatman outlined to use the "add to home screen" to add the app using Google for Android. I couldn't add it using Microsoft Bing (my default browser.)
